The Digital Sculpture Factory

Facade panels, furniture, and stand

The Digital Sculpture Factory consists of three buildings: an office building, a factory and a private residence complete with rooftop pool. All the facades are covered with laminates produced using digital printing, including the windows which are “disguised“ by sliding doors and blend into the overall appearance. The panels‘ megatexture becomes the actual design of the architecture. The pattern becomes the symbol of the architecture. The surfaces of the facades completely determine the architecture and as such they represent the origin of architexture and the overall idea behind digital printing. The colorful stripes look artificial yet very natural at the same time. Considering the origins of the color combinations, we are aware of the fact that we are only borrowing colors from nature‘s wildest and most radical creations.
