Laboratorio Dimenticato

Celebrating the playfulness of design in the studio’s unique choice of materials in a surreal - post-futuristic setting.

In the year 2019 a workshop was discovered in the heart of Milan. Its doors had seemingly not been opened for over 60 years. The discovery was spectacular. Somehow the space managed to simultaneously reflect the distant past and the remote future. Inside, found objects and furniture had been constructed from rare and unknown raw materials. Many pieces were built with vibrant and colorful wood, likely sourcedfrom extra-terrestrial trees.

Scientists are continually trying to deduce what exactly occurred in this curious space. Through the analysis of letters, drawings and the objects, it was ultimately determined that a certain gentleman, who called himself Severin Munch-Prokorny, was deeply involved in this project. From the content of these letters and notes, it seems that Severin Munch-Prokorny, severely traumatized after the horrors of World War II, dreamed of a humane and better life on a different and distant planet. To this end, he assembled a group of scientists, designers, engineers and craftsmen to carry out his plan, which suprisingly became a reality.

1955 marked the beginning of the transport of people to the planet MP-4753Y, ascertained to be habitable to humans.
